Evil Star is about a boy named Matt Freeman. In this book he goes to Peru to save the world from the "Old Ones". He is working for the Nexus with Fabian which is an under cover agency to find out about the "Old Ones". When He goes to Peru his car, that is supposed to take him to Fabian, is shot at and Richard Cole, the person that is taking care of Matt, gets captured. Matt made it away and when he woke up, he was being robbed. The robber, Pedro, took him to the hotel he was suposed to meet Fabian at. Instead of Fabian he met a police officer Rodriguez. Pedro wouldnt go in the hotel, because he saw the police cars outside of it. In the hotel the police officer beat up Matt and took him to their cars. Pedro was outside with his sling shot and picked off every police officer. Pedro too him back to where he lived which, was in posion town. When they got there, Matt wanted to go to Salamandas house to look for Richard because he thought he had him. Salamanda is one of the richest people in the world. When he got there, Salamanda saw them and Matt demanded to know where Richard was, he didnt have him so they ran. Somebody named Mico came in and saved them. He was the person that took Richard. He took them to the lost city of Valacamba where the Incas live. There the head chief told him about Mrs. Chambers who studied the "Old Ones". They found out that the "Old Ones" gate was going to open in the Nazca Desert. They figured out that the lines and stars when they matched up that it would unlock the gate. They would line up that night but there would be one star missing. Salamanda had recently launched a satelite and they discovered that would serve as a star. They went to the main satelite station and brought along 50 incan fighters. There they figured out that Salamanda was controlling it from the Nazca desert. Matt and Pedro flew out there on a two person helicopter, but the helicopter crashed. Matt finaly found Salamanda controlling it, but it was too late Evil Star had risen. The "Old Ones" were out.
Rating:
I would rate this book a 9 out of 10. It was probably my favorite book i have read. This was a real page turner. The reason i would have to take off a point would be because it is too boring in the begining and it takes one or two chapters to get into it.

Anthony Horwitz was born in stanmore, middlesex on April 5, 1955. He was born into a wealthy Jewish family. He first wanted to become a writer when he was 8. He got married in 1989 in Hong Kong to Jill Green. He is known for his book writing and also for his screen writing. Now he lives in North London with his wife. He now has 41 books published. He mainley writes mysteries for kids.
